At the heart of Loaf n’ Cats are the cats themselves. Our café aims to be a safe haven for black cats, who are often overlooked in shelters. Here, they’re celebrated as affectionate companions, not defined by old superstitions. By giving them visibility and love, we hope to change the way people see them — one cuddle at a time.

Cats aren’t just wonderful friends; research shows that spending time with them can help ease stress and calm the nervous system. That’s why Loaf n’ Cats is also designed as a sanctuary for students, creatives, and anyone who needs a quiet retreat.

Beyond tea and purring cats, Loaf n’ Cats celebrates creativity through its Art Den — a rotating exhibition space that showcases works by local artists and makers. We lend our walls to these creators, adding to the café’s ambiance while giving them a cozy platform to share their craft.

To support our mission, we’ve created a sub-company: Jewels n’ Cats. By selling handcrafted jewelry at Artist Alley booths, Jewels n’ Cats helps fund the café and keep the dream alive.

Founder's Story

Loaf n’ Cats was born from a mix of creativity, design, and a lifelong love for animals. My journey hasn’t been a straight line, but every step has shaped the vision of this café.

The café originally started with two owners, but over time, it became clear that I had a deeper drive and vision to carry it forward. With my stronger interest in the company’s growth, I took over full ownership — allowing me to shape Loaf n’ Cats into the space I had always envisioned.

I come from a background of creative design and technical artistry. I’ve worked with tools like Houdini, Maya, and Unreal Engine 5 to bring environments, costumes, and simulations to life. Building spaces — whether digitally or physically — has always been a passion of mine. Even in my own home, I’ve designed compact, cozy environments, layering textures, lighting, and atmosphere to turn small rooms into havens. That sense of detail and immersion carries directly into Loaf n’ Cats.

Beyond design, I’ve explored storytelling through mysticism, mythology, and symbolism. From researching spiritual figures like Aphrodite, Freya and Odin to weaving imagery of cats and crows into art, I’ve always believed in creating spaces that feel enchanted yet grounded. While Loaf n’ Cats has pivoted away from explicitly “witchy” branding, I still carry forward the enchanted forest and dark academia aesthetic — a space that feels magical without alienating those wary of superstition.

To support the café’s launch, I started Jewels n’ Cats, a sub-company that sells handcrafted jewelry at Artist Alley booths. It’s a way to fund the dream while also connecting with communities through art and craft. At its heart, this café is about the cats — especially black cats, who too often face stigma in adoption. I want Loaf n’ Cats to be both a sanctuary for them and a cozy refuge for people: students, creatives, or anyone who needs to pause, sip a drink, and feel comfort in the company of animals.

This isn’t just a business to me. It’s the culmination of my skills as a designer, my creative storytelling, my love for symbolism, and my deep respect for animals. Loaf n’ Cats is the space where all of that comes together.
